Rodger and Lili Mead

       The trip to Romania was made all the more special by the friendship and hospitality of Rodger and Lili Mead. 3 years ago they decided to build a B & B in Campulung and almost literally built it themselves, including spending nearly 8 months living in a tent whilst they did it. That Casa Anglia was the result shows the hard work that was put in. Recently a well respected tourist organisation visited, as the B & B is a new concept in Romania and they wanted to see the quality that tourists, especially those from Western Europe, would expect. Notwithstanding the quality of what they built, what made it really special was the presence of Rodger and Lili. Rodger is as passionate about biking as I am so Casa Anglia definitely deserved the title ‘Biker Friendly’. As well as running Romania’s best B & B Rodger and Lili are also in a position to offer help and assistance in getting to Romania.                                                                                                                     Rodger and Lili have friends in Bucharest and Brasov, all bikers, who also run B & B’s and the plan is to offer ‘Joined Up Tours’ of Romania. For instance, if you don’t fancy the long ride from the Channel ports (circa 1350mls) then they can advise you on cheap flights from the UK to Bucharest and if you wish you can stay in a ‘Biker Friendly’ B & B in Bucharest and then be transported to Rodger’s at Campulung where they hope to be able to offer motorcycle hire so you can tour Transylvania. Also you will be able to travel to Brasov and again if you wish to spend some time there you will be able to stay again in a friendly B & B.  . Finally, I would like to sincerely thank both Rodger and Lili for their kindness and friendship, for this trip would not have been the pleasure that it was without their presence, and on behalf of both Glyn Jones and myself I would like to wish them every success for the future

Unfortunately, due to unforseen family circumstances Rodger and lili have recently had to return to the UK to live for now but Rodger has kindly said that for anyone who is thinking of travelling to Romania he will be more than happy to advise them if they care to contact him via the Email address below.
